We additionally offer kiln dried lumber, surfaced on 2 sides to 7/8" thickness by random widths and straight-line ripped on 2 edges for use as cabinet lumber, furniture stock or architectural mouldings.

A wide range of dimensional lumber in a variety of thicknesses and widths is also available.

Hand Hewn Beams
Historically hand hewn beams were created by hand with an axe from a round log. This age old method of squaring timbers produced beams with unique texture and remnant axe marks, clearly exhibiting the early craftsman's skills. Used extensively in barns and log structures, these beams are carefully salvaged, selected and inventoried by The Woods Company for their unique rustic beauty and soundness. Frequently used for decorative ceiling beams, rafters, posts, mantles, their many creative uses are limitless.

Rough Sawn Beams
As methods improved for providing larger quantities of sized lumber for a growing nation, beams sawn by large circular saws became the norm in the construction of late 19th and early 20th century houses, barns and industrial buildings. These beams aged to rich grey/brown tones exhibit a more uniform rustic surface than our hand hewn timbers. Frequently used in much the same way for decorative purposes, these timbers are available in a wider range of sizes from 2 x 4's to 12 x 12's.

We work with a specialty vent manufacturer, providing them with materials to make our line of floor vents. These are very high quality and are custom made to order to match any of our floors. Send us a complete list of sizes needed and we will gladly provide a quotation.
