Rick has worked in the reclaimed flooring industry since 1993 and joined The Woods Company team in 2001. For over 16 years, he was a residential and commercial contractor, specializing in historic restorations and period-style new home building. First exposed to reclaimed wood use as flooring and cabinetry in the 1970s, Rick frequently incorporated antique flooring, reclaimed timbers, and millwork into his projects. He continues to share his experience and appreciation for reclaimed woods with discerning homeowners, professional builders, and hardwood dealers alike.

Debra is an industry veteran, bringing over 8 years of reclaimed wood flooring experience to The Woods Company. Debra services the northeast and mid-atlantic region, including Washington, D.C. She is active in presenting continuing education programs certified through the AIA to architect firms and conferences throughout the east. And she has a distinct flair for design, taking you through every stage of your project, from vision to completion.

Karen joined The Woods Company team in 1999 after graduating from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. With a bachelor's degree in business and economics and a certification in Small Business Management, Karen brought a strong skill set to our rapidly growing business. She developed an immediate interest not only in the company but also in reclaimed woods and the environmental impact of our company. Always eager to learn, Karen has been involved in all facets of The Woods Company and enjoys any opportunity to share with customers what we offer and what we stand for as a company.

New to the wood flooring industry, Pete is a former woodworker and fine artist. He brings his appreciation and passion for wood and his artistic flair to every sample created. Pete also brings his web savvy to continuing to build the The Woods Company digital presence.
Dirk Coble

After many years of managing a specialty woodworking company, Dirk began his tenure at The Woods Company in 1994. His passion for reclaimed wood was sparked years before, when he was a wood industries student at West Virginia University. Dirk made a dining room table from red oak that he reclaimed from an orphanage. His work earned him a credit for independent study and he ultimately received his bachelor's of science degree in Forestry. He's been hooked on reclaimed wood ever since. Dirk brings decades of knowledge, appreciation, and reverence for reclaimed wood to work every day as our General Manager.
Barry Stup
President and Founder
Prior to launching The Woods Company three decades ago, Barry concentrated on interior woodworking projects such as staircases, lofts, and trim work. He was greatly influenced by the environmental movement in the 1970s and understood the need for recycling and the logic behind it. One of Barry’s earliest realizations was that some of the barns in Maryland and Pennsylvania were built with chestnut, one of the most rare and beautiful native hardwoods. Rather than see this precious timber wasted, Barry formed his own company to salvage old barn wood and make it useful again.
